Trains O Scale - Building Structures

This is part one in the FREE series on how to add structures to your O Scale Train layout.

"This will be all about how to build the buildings of your model train set and all of the different options available on how to integrate them into your trains o scale layout. Although the techniques I am talking about can be used on your model train layout regardless of the scale and gauge you must take into the consideration that your buildings must fit your train scale. There is no point buying an trains o scale building set and constructing it in your HO Scale train set, as it will be out of proportion."

Night Trains - If your in town get and see this!

This looks like a wonderful museum (St Paul, Minnesota) its model train layouts but at night. Which gives a really romantic feel.

Night Trains

Each Saturday night from November through February, we turn down the lights and let the layout come alive in its own magical way.

Buildings and street lights glow warmly, setting the scene for specially lighted models of vintage passenger trains. The town of Mattlin is buried in a blizzard, and throughout the layout are miniature Christmas lights and decorations.

Not Your Ordinary Train Set....

This is a fantastic article and the numbers are staggering. Its a shame there arent any pictures. I will have a scout and see if I can find some for you.

Here are some numbers that help explain why jaws drop at the first sight of the model-train set that tech entrepreneur Peter Hambling is having built in the basement of his Medina family home:

• The train set uses 4,000 feet of track, 20 miles of wiring, 150 sheets of plywood, more than 50 pounds of wood screws, 15 gallons of Elmer's glue, 2,000 pounds of plaster, 120 train passenger cars, 350 freight cars, 80 locomotives and 40,000 miniature trees ranging from 1 to 20 inches tall.

• To accommodate the project, Hambling had a contractor dig out and build a 3,200-square-foot basement where there used to be a crawl space.

• The mammoth train set is in "the top 10 percent" in size in the country, says Neil Besougloff, editor of Model Railroader magazine. He says that guys (and it's almost always guys, who're "attracted to the construction, mechanical and technical aspects") who have the means might use "sprawling ranch houses with basements" for the large sets.

Do you have a fortune in your attic? And would you know?

This is a great article, definately worth reading if you have been collecting trains for a while.

Trains have always fascinated children, particularly boys. And it is a favorite of young Thomas train. Find all day, mesmerized, fascinated. This is a dependency of young people are not aware, and do not know if they were. Why I love them so much? Then the young people become adults, and the fascination continues, but now I understand their appeal. Now, they realize that they had gained control of a powerful machine. It "It 's a known fact that men love to play with toys. What drives them to do?

What makes them want to control a powerful machine? Even if only 1 / 87 the size. This may be the operation of a board of directors. The internal operation, such as electricity, the source of his power. Or maybe it's limited to trains on the tracks. E 'can remember a configuration of the train around a Christmas tree, and all around and around it every Christmas morning every year. But what about the trains, toys word is no longer adequate. trains for children have grown up in the car, and kids who became men.

The trains normally see around Christmas time are plastic. They are cheap and are not of high quality but low quality. They are a great way to educate children on a potential hobby . The boys grow into men, toy trains and locomotives, and built to last. Do not grow up a bit 'to switch "function that trains low-quality plastic. The wheels are made for better contact with tracks tracks provide a better contact with electricity contributes to the formation of better quality. These trains are heavier locomotives, which allow you to contact the tracks.

They are made of metal, not plastic, they are stronger and have more grip. All fans of model trains that they pose to children happy. How much weight training has a lot to do with its operation. The heavier the better, and have more contact with the current through the numbers, this means that we can improve the operation. The locomotive has metal machine. We better quality does not stop here with electricity. What's more, we can also get steam engines during the young adult. These steam engines are now offered by manufacturers of these beautiful model trains adult.

A lot of quality and different models are proposed, but nothing beats watching a steam engine rotary engine stop smoke air.Not many kids grow up to become a real locomotive engineers, but I'm sure that many would want to live this dream. You do not need to drive a motorcycle when the real dream for your life with your love for model trains. Become a fan and live the dream of your childhood years configuration and build your railroad today.
