Rod Stewart Loves Model Trains

When Rod Stewart tours the U.S. this spring, he’ll have one strange request on his rider.  A very large table backstage.

Stewart requests the table so he can work on model trains. The BBC reports Stewart has a thing for tiny locomotives. Stewart told Model Railroader magazine it is “an eye for proportion, a sense of what fits naturally, right down to the placement of the advertising signs,”… “When I find myself focusing so intently on a model that it ceases to be fun, it’s time to walk away, have a cup of tea and come back to it later.”

Stewart, has a 1,500 sq ft model train layout of 1940s New York Central and Pennsylvania railroads on the third floor of his house.

I guess you have to fill your third floor with something, most people’s lives are so empty they just opt for a roof up there.
